Prof Xuemei Bai

Xuemei Bai is a Distinguished Professor and ARC Laureate Fellow at the Australian National University. Her research focuses on the science and policy of rapid urbanization, urban system sustainability, cities and climate change. She is a Clarivate Highly Cited researcher, with >30 of her works appeared in Science, Nature and Nature research journals. She serves as an Earth Commissioner, Co-Chair of the Future Earth Governing Council, and a Coordinating Lead Author for IPCC Special Report on Climate Change and Cities. She is a Fellow of Australian Academy of the Social Sciences, and was named as one of the World's 100 Most Influential People in Climate Change Policy in 2019 and 2022. She is the Laureate of the Volvo Environment Prize 2018, and the Global Economy Prize 2021.
